Post of the Month Winner Announced!
The first Post of the Month contest under the new rules has come to an end, and our community came through once again with a selection of posts so outstanding it took our judges a very long time to decide which should be named the best.
Now, with no further delay: the Post of the Month winner for April 2012 is ... Tangler!

In a game as heavily geared toward combat as D&D, all too often the time a character spends outside of combat (which, let's be honest, is about 99.9% of his or her life), gets short shrift. With this post, however, Tangler gives us a lengthy, insightful look into the character of Fahd, as the young mystic seeks out the perfect bowl for brewing potions and grapples with his emotions and attraction to a new member of the party. The tone ranges easily from lighthearted to introspective, stoking our curiosity about what is to come.

| New Features! Mobile, secrets, ads, and CS! |

Important and exciting changes! Including: No more ads for CS! And a mobile style!
- [CS/Ads] CS users will now browse ad free. Enjoy! I have made this change because I think it's the right thing to do; I am hopeful that it will encourage a few more people to sign up as a CS to make up for the lost revenue.
- [CS] I have added a new way to pay for CS. You can now pay $3/month instead of $25/year (recurring subscription only). Sign up here!
- [Ads] Those who do not have CS accounts will now see some back text if they use an adblocker. The text speaks the truth: this site needs the income from the ads, and for those not supporting the site with CS memberships, we would appreciate it if you would not block the ads.
- [CS/Mobile] I have added a mobile skin. For now, this is for CS members only. After a testing period, it will be extended to the entire site (though unlike for CS users, the general mobile style will include ads.) There is a mobile style comment thread in the CS forum.

The final Post of the Month contest under the old rules is over, and once again the community make our judges' job delightfully difficult.

With this post, FadingEcho tackles a particularly difficult literary device - telling one character's tale through the prism of another's reactions - and pulls it off flawlessly. The writing is rich and evocative, providing a wealth of detail without letting minutia dominate the narrative, and we feel as much passengers as Gideon himself does, following carefully in every step of an assassin's silent boots, experiencing every merciless moment until the grim errand is complete.

| Easter Egg Hunt Winner Announced |

The eggs are counted, and the tally is done. This year there are... wow, five finalists who managed to find all twelve eggs and identify the bunny - and quite a few more who came very close. I guess we need to be a little more obscure next year, eh?
But, enough chatter, the winner of 2012's Easter Egg Hunt is... TheDarkFuzz!
As a prize, we've replaced his avatar with the great big champion avatar, whether he likes it or not (we warned you all!), and he gets to keep it until he gets annoyed with it and chooses to replace it (but, it'll only be extra-big until the end of the month).
Also, I'd like to thank our runners up; Aethera, goplayer7, Master of Monsters and Olorian; our organizers and everyone else who participated this year!
Keep those eyes sharp, next year is going to be much harder!

New Moderators!
Everyone please give a nice warm DnDOG welcome to our newest three Moderators.
Aosaw, Embrodak and HenryLockwood!
All three of these wonderful members have been known to go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to helping around the Site. They all bring something special to DnDOG and as everyone knows no good deed goes unpunished. So we're going to make their names red and put them to work! Please be gentle with them in the first few days of their new jobs, new Moderators tend to break easily under the strain of all the power.
