Keyla exhaled sharply as the vampire dusted, despite the dust hitting her clean in the front, painting her white as a ghost. Blinking her eyes open, she looked down the dark stairs, and just before she started down them asked to Arthur "Get the others, and find a flashlight."

"No flashlight handy for the big finish? Scully and Mulder would be so proud." Arthur used his free hand to open the door next to him, still ready to stake any Undrooligans that might pop out.

Arthur checked, and gave the all clear. No one was upstairs but him now.
At the landing the slayer stood ready for trouble. She could hear whispered voices, but she really could not see anything down here. She could tell that there were at least four people down here with her, maybe more. They moved around slowly, like they were scared or at least on edge. No one came near, not yet at least. (OOC: Ok folks go ahead and call in back up, get some light or get your night fighting skills ready to test. Your turn.)

Speed dial to Lucas commenced. "Get in here." He hung up, then hit the buttons that caused some brighter than most app to light up and stay that way. He pulled out part of the thin chain that his wallet was attached to, an item he learned to wear years ago, in his teenage mosh pit days. He looped the chain around the phone as secure as he could. It would be little light, and really just make him the obvious target until it fell off somehow.
That was the idea though. He would be the target, she could see what to hit.

Lucas goes to his car and finds the flashlight in the trunk. Then he joins the others, flashlight in his left hand, loaded crossbow resting under his right shoulder, sword in its scabbard on his belt.

Keeping her stakes on point, but not willing to dive blind into a basement full of vampires without backup, Keyla stayed where she was, taking 10 on listen check for 12keeping an ear out for anyone approaching. She could see here, so at least the vampires would have to get past her to escape.
And without swords and armor, that wasn't a very likely scenario.

Arthur looks for a weak spot in the floor, somewhere on the other side of the room. Once Lucas enters the place, Arthur spots the flashlight, gives Lucas a salute, and then runs and jumps on to that piece of floor, impacting boots first. Maybe he'll just make a noise, maybe he'll fall through. Either way, he's going to cause a distraction.

Arthur was insane. Or that was the polite way to put it at least. He slammed his feet down with great force in to the section of floor that looked most unstable and damaged. He was right, it did give out. That however did not make it fun, or easy to land in the basement. He tore through the floor and sent splinters everywhere. Below him were pipes, and old wires as well a more than a little jagged metal. Once past the floor and related plumbing he fell on to the rather hard, dirty floor below. (Arthur takes 13 damage from the fall, Ref DC 15 to reduce that by 5, then Balance DC 10 or fall prone)
Even after the fall things were less than great for him. Now he was the single pool of light in a den of darkness, with undead pressing in on all sides with no back up but a teenage girl with a sharp stick. Above Lucas had a birds eye view of what was going on, and a pretty good shot. While the slayer was still half way down the stairs more than a little shocked at what she saw in front of her. Though on that same note the vampire were just about as surprised as she was. Most of them just stepped back confused and scared, also half blind from the sudden light. Only one had the wits to do anything really and he seemed to be the leader. He was a middle aged man with a nice outfit, and clearly vampire features. He yelled at the others saying "Get them you fools" before he charged at Arthur himself. He swung at the unsteady man and .... (If you are prone he hit you for 7 damage, a good kicking to the ribs) swung a bit to slow as Arthur was able to lean away from the punch and regain his footing now toe to toe with this vampire. (OOC: Map updated in just a little bit. Go ahead after that.)

Unlike Butch and Sundance, it's not the fall that's going to kill him. The damage was negligible, because like his old counterparts, he's hardcore. And just like a cat, he landed on his feet. In fact, it was a four star, not three point landing, one that Jackie Chan would be proud of.
"Greetings from Los Angeles, California!" He wasn't hiding his enthusiasm in being here. He dodged a kick and a punch with a smile, and returned the favor. Unfortunately, that meant equal missing with his low left boot and right upper cross. But maybe it was on design, a chance to draw the scared minions in. As he adjusted to the dim lighting, and new footing, he could feel and see them nearing...and then he responded with violence...and lyrics. "In Trash City." Back hand towards El Dorko Muerte Uno. "On Party Avenue." Thrust side kick towards Nosfera Two. "I got a girl..." Uppercut towards Lost Boys Part Three. "...from Kalamazoo." Steel toed boot to Halloweenie Part Four. "One time!" He cut a swarth in the air with his stake...thinking he spotted Dork's Force Five. And like a Floridian ballot checker, he wasn't too sure on the count, and he wasn't stopping for an improper puncture. His swing continued, and he levelled his aim for what was left of the Lililthian leader's heart. He was going for a total eclipse. Last edited by zevonian; Yesterday at 08:24 PM. Seeing the man attack their leader the vampires follow orders. Though Arthur was not able to land a blow on the nimble dead man it was enough to prompt a charge from each of the vampires in the room. Forget the slayer, get the guy who burst in through the ceiling... makes sense. The first vampire tried to running kick Arthur but instead caught a back hand to the face and kicked nothing but the ground. The second vampire had more like, though he caught a kick to the thigh he was able to land a awkward punch on Arthur's knee (5 damage). The third vampire came rushing at Mr. Blood but backed off at the last second to avoid the mean looking upper cut meant for him. The forth vampire caught a steel toe boot pretty hard, though it did not stop him from slamming his elbow in to Arthur's kidney. (Crit, total 14 damage) The last vampire to attack caught a drum stick to the face, the gash stopped him in his tracks and totally fouled his aim with a wide back hand. Finally Aruther finished by stabbing the vampire leader in the chest, though he missed the heart by more than a little and in fact stabbed the stake in to the dead man's left shoulder. Still looked like it hurt, a lot, though. (OOC. Slayer and Wather's turn, then leader vamp, the Blood, then vampires... rinse, lather, repeat.)

"Wait? When did I suddenly become the sensible one here, Arthur?" Lucas says, as he shine his flashlight to illuminate all of the vampires surrounding Arthur and Arthur himself. He then takes aim with the crossbow and launches a bolt at the vampire closest to him. He then jumps down to join Arthur. "Can't let you have all the fun now, can I?"

Arthur burst through the roof of the basement, revealing the contents of the room. Vampires, and lots of them. Great. On the bright side, there was enough light to see now, right? Gotta find the silver lining when your friends are being mauled by vampires.
When Lucas shines the flashlight down, it's like a halo on the vampires, and Keyla began to charge down the stairs, preparing a flying kick at the nearest vampire. Mid-jump, Lucas drops over the ledge, swinging over the vampires and into the basement. Not only was it unexpected, it screwed up her kick, even while she was in the air.
