The new profiler is now using your vBulletin information. If you can't see your characters, it's likely because your username there was different than it is here (if that's not it, try clearing cookies before anything else). Send me a pm if you have a username discrepancy.

It's a feature!

• My RPXP is gone! Yes - please read the announcements.
• Posts going to moderation: sometimes, posts will be [automagically] evaluated to be spam and sent for moderation. Initially, all posts were being scanned (and one user in particular was singled out by the software...). This has now been adjusted to not apply to trusted users (almost everyone).

Known High Priority Issues

• No game application system (instructions will be forthcoming) temporary solution in place -- please apply for games here

Other Issues

• site rules and help need... help Our wonderful staff are working through these right now! send a pm to JayRob if you see a problem
• spoilerbutton doesn't handle special characters properly
• weirdness with RPXP -- 'you can't give rpxp to the same post twice', and yet a) you haven't clicked on the post before, and b) it works after all; not sure this is going to be fixed -- probably caused by a combination of lag + ajax
• announcements board a sticking place? 'I click on the link at the top of the page to return to the Announcements board from the thread (to view all of the threads), I instead return to exactly the same thread (rather like refreshing the page). So far this has only happened to me in the Announcements board and no others.' [note: this happens with Global Announcements, not the ones shown on the front page]
• double posts when using quickedit (during high load times?) increased post flood time from 10 second to 30 seconds; hopefully this will help
• no bbcode parsing in fieldset titles (low priority)
• improve front page aesthetics -- subscribed forums 'squished'
• private threads that one cannot see included when calculating read threads; also, private threads are listed in the last unread post column both in usercp and the favourites listing on the home page
• RSS feeds problems
• weird colour tag change here
• spoilers on dark skins don't show
• dice roller kind of half-interprets things like ad20+1, when it should ignore them or throw an error

 

ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN FIXED. IF YOU ARE STILL HAVING ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS AFTER CLEARING YOUR BROWSER COOKIES AND CACHE, PLEASE LET US KNOW.

Known High Priority Issues

• no alternative skins
• vBulletin has a known bug in that it caches the load status for 5 minutes -- if the load spikes, then is cached, the site will continue to throw 'overloaded' errors even if load returns to normal (so, on average, this should add 2.5 minutes to every problem with load I guess)
• problems logging into character sheets (a few individuals may still have problems due to having registered with a non-matching name at the profiler) before it was integrated into the boards)
• dice roller updates

Other Issues

• quick edit of first post in thread strips private nature of thread
• Adding extra spaces inside dice tags can result in problems.
• private threads are listed in the forum display
• front page (cmps_index) is a little sketchy - spacing odd, too much info in the subscriptions list
• no link to cmps_index (logo would be good)
• no characters in pulldown profile info
• quick reply window replies clicking on posts (this is a 'feature' of the new boards; a decision about whether we disable it will be forthcoming) (disabled)
• "I cannot see who has given me RPXP": this appears to be an artifact of the RPXP reset; please only report this problem if you've been given RPXP enough times to fill the list in your usercp (5 times or more)
• new character sheets not integrated into our login system (or into vbulletin at all); some problems logging in (see above)
• SRD link bad? (possibly the solution to this will be to use an off-site SRD)
• falling happy faces are annoying: these will never be removed! (until tomorrow/Monday)
• RSS feeds don't work; they should start working again once I give guests access to the boards (tomorrow).
• Colour tags no longer work with sticky threads
• link to post shows only 1 post, not the thread
• cannot upload avatars
• secret tags are removing dice rolls, dice roller is complaining about it
• deleted rolls are shown, even if they were in a secret (removed all display of deleted dice rolls except for a notice that deletion had taken place -- solves the secret problem, and is probably sufficient; UPDATE: changed it so that admin, super mods, DMs in their own games, and the individual who made the post can all see the omitted rolls)
• Username does not shortcut to account page (style-dependent fix)
• go to your last post button missing
• CS subscription payment options don't come up -- this will be fixed as soon as we get the big K to take a look at our account options (the good news is that once we get it set up, it should all happen automatically -- no more waiting for an admin to put you on the list)
• error in vBulletin -- bad variable is causing our hourly jobs not to run -- this means that some user promotions have not been happening as they should be; will be corrected ASAP
• bad numbers of pages to select from in multi-page displays
• cannot upload profile pictures
• bad formatting (missing CSS) for 4e sheets
• multiple explorer issues, main one was couldn't see tabs in profile
• right margin of figment skin sometimes gets lost
• could not replicate any problems with dice in spoilerbuttons
• fixed problem with white space between dice tags -- this should no longer be an issue
• dice rolls will no longer have seeds entered when 'go advanced' is selected from the quick reply window; this was causing them to be marked as the results of tampering
• dice: when in quickedit, if you hit 'save' and then 'edit' in quick succession, an extra roll is saved in the database and shows up as a deleted roll; fixed!
• no bbcode symbols for dice, etc in the quick reply window
• no 'secret' bbcode button in reply windows
• can see secret stuff in search
• some people have trouble with their chosen style reverting (changed style quickchooser so that it updates the database)
• weirdness in the subscribed threads in the usercp (all bold / no clear indication of what's been read, possibly an odd order) [this was not a bug: perhaps just odd behaviour right after the upgrade? it's working great now]
• character list in 'about me' cleaned up
• secret tags leave tell-tale garbage in quotes
• can (sometimes?) see text from private threads in searches *

Few minor things I have noticed:

the saros smily () picture isn't working in the post reply section (i.e: when you click the post rreply button and the smilies are on the right hadn side)

When I move my mouse around the page it seems to go glitchy, everything flashes white then turns normal after a split second

the images for the dice roller, fieldset etc button in the post reply are missing as well.

Same for the images for RSS feeds, create new thread etc on the main page

(as this is an older post, these rolls are interpreted by the older (more basic) dice roller code)

sorry if you know about these and it is just a testing thing, but the main gripe is the glitchy screen (never happened on my computer before)

RPXP has been reset, I don't remember seeing it on the list of things done, but I'm assuming it is intentional.

in the contacts and friends section I can't see any avatars, though IDK if this is intentional (I get a ticky box with the highlight "X's avatar) but meh

All in all, I like it I know there are faults that can be easily fixed once found. so please don't count this as the first spam post

Is there anyway we can change skins? I like the new one, but I prefer a lil colour in tha background

Flashing page: fixed! (thank you!) was happening on main page, not as far as I can remember anymore

I also noticed when I was on your profile that there were alot of X for missing pictures

Friends: better, I can see most of them, but some I can;t before they were just blank space, now they are boxes with a page in them saying (X's avatar)
(instead of just saying that when you hold the mouse on them)

EDIT: I thought the site was only open for CS and reds today?
I saw 6 members online (not all CS or red) and 34 guests

Sorry if I missed an announcement about that

I saw 6 members online (not all CS or red) and 34 guests they can get to the login page but no further; I missed disabling guests, and have done that now; I also just added an explanatory message to the error message they are getting; you may see them in 'who's online' even if they can't see anything but an error

it's not an active skin -- you can only access it because you are a super moderator -- just use figment for now

I can't seem to get graphics for any buttons to the right of the "code" tag, just a text block.

(as this is an older post, these rolls are interpreted by the older (more basic) dice roller code)

although clicking on the text seems to do the right thing.

I do not have a secret button anymore. that's going to make DMing tougher.

Should I put the old ones in? Are there good alternatives right now? I never paid much attention to avatars.

You mean there was a bbcode [secret] tag shortcut above the reply editor? (sorry, I tend to just type the code out by hand, so perhaps I missed it)

RSS feeds worked for me previously when I was testing (e.g. on index page)... but not now!

Are they working for others?
